The organization's mission is to promote running as a means to achieve physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and a healthy lifestyle among the residents of Hyderabad and beyond.

ABOUT NMDC HYDERABAD MARATHON
The NMDC Hyderabad Marathon is one of the premier running events in India, organized by the Hyderabad Runners Society. Known for its vibrant participation and well-organized races, this marathon has grown significantly since its inception in 2011, attracting runners from across the globe. The event promotes health, fitness, and community spirit while supporting various charitable causes.
NMDC Hyderabad Marathon is India’s 2nd largest marathon (28000+ participants in 2025) after Mumbai Marathon. It is also one of the most runner friendly marathon. The event is completely runner-volunteer driven.
15th Edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon will be held on 23rd August 2026.

15th EDITION OF HYDERABAD MARATHON (2026)
THEME: SUSTAINABILITY BEYOND BOUNDARIES
The Hyderabad Marathon is more than just a race; it is a celebration of human endurance, community, and the spirit of our vibrant city. For the 15th edition of the Hyderabad Marathon, we invite young, innovative designers to create a finisher’s medal that embodies both the spirit of the runner and the responsibility towards the environment. The theme of this year’s medal is sustainability, emphasizing ecological balance, mindful living, and the shared commitment to a greener future. The design should celebrate the achievement of every participant while symbolizing Hyderabad’s cultural vibrancy and the marathon’s dedication to environmental stewardship.
DESIGN REQUIREMENTS:
The content on the medal will have at least the following:

MATERIALS:
- Medals were previously made from zinc; any material is acceptable as long as it's practical to produce.
- Typically, medals are around 80–90mm in diameter & 110 to 130 gms weight. (size and shape of the medal can vary)
- The final design can vary slightly but should be practical for wearing and manufacturing.

Lanyard:
Lanyard is usually made of synthetic. It is approximately 30- 35mm wide and 1metre in length. The design for the medal ribbon (lanyard), can also reflect the sustainable theme eg: jute, cloth etc..
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Format: Submissions must include both a front and back design in high-resolution
- JPG
- 3D views
- Exploded axonometric view (if there are different layers)
- CDR format is optional.
Design explanation: A short, written description explaining the design concept, material choices, design's key features, meaning, and sustainability strategy should be included to help the jury understand the thought process.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:
Submissions will be evaluated by a panel which will include a representative from Hyderabad Runners, a Sponsor, and a designer/artist.
- Creativity and Originality (free from any copyright issues)
- Relevance to the Theme – sustainability, Arts, culture and traditions of Hyderabad/ Telangana, spirit of endurance running
- Aesthetics and Visual Appeal
- Feasibility – ability to be reproduced on the medal- practical aspects of manufacturing.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Eligibility
- The contest is open to all individuals above 18 years of age.
- This competition is exclusively for under grad and post graduate students. (Bachelors & Masters)
- Participants are allowed to submit only one design per entry/per person.
Theme
- The design must reflect the theme of sustainability, highlighting ecological balance, mindful living, and the spirit of the Hyderabad Marathon.
Design Specifications
- The medal should represent the 42.195 km journey, the runner’s spirit, and Hyderabad’s cultural identity.
- The design must be original and created specifically for this contest.
- File format: JPEG/PNG/PDF with a short concept note (max 100 words).
Submission
- Entries must be submitted by 11:59PM IST on 21/11/2025

- Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
Intellectual Property Rights
- By submitting an entry, participants grant Hyderabad Runners Society the exclusive right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, and publish the design for the event and related promotions.
- The winning design becomes the sole property of HRS.
- The designer will be credited where appropriate but will have no further ownership or commercial rights.
Judging
- Designs will be reviewed by a panel of judges appointed by HRS.
- The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding.
- HRS reserves the right to make minor changes to the selected design for production feasibility.
Rewards & Recognition
- The winning designer will receive recognition during the event and on HRS platforms.
- Additional appreciation certificates or prizes may be announced later.
Disqualification
- Entries found to be plagiarized or previously published will be disqualified.
- Any violation of these terms will lead to immediate disqualification.
General Conditions
- Participation in the contest implies acceptance of all terms and conditions.
- HRS reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time without prior notice.
